Rob Hoblin

Director, People Development & Policy

I have been Director of People and Policy at P2P for the last three years having left policing in 2014 and then travelled the world delivering leadership and management training in locations as far west as Boston and as far east as Ulan Bator.

My policing career gave me a solid grounding on how to manage operations and deal with difficult situations at all levels. During my policing career, I developed the appetite for training, coaching, mentoring and facilitating at first line manager level and I then developed these skills throughout my progression to Chief Superintendent where I spent a third of my policing career.

After leaving policing I soon discovered that I had readily transferrable skills and knowledge which allowed me to work with many commercial, charitable, government and not-for-profit organisations as well as some of the top ten universities in the UK. During this time I have worked with companies such as Costa Coffee, England FA, Bunzl, ACCA Global, Great Ormand Street Charity, Kings College London, London School of Economics, Adecco, Viridor, Autodesk, Centriforce, NATO, NHS and South West Water. This work included leadership and management training, executive level coaching, mentoring and specialist use of my emotional intelligence practitioner’s qualification to assist individuals and teams to improve specific areas of development within the spectrum of emotional intelligence.

It was a pleasure to be asked by Alan to join the immense team at P2P where we have collectively joined up the knowledge and capability of some great people in order to help others who are either aspiring to join policing or to progress their career in this great profession. From this super work, we have also identified an enormous capability that we have to help others in the commercial sector and beyond. Using the skills and knowledge of our wide-ranging team of associates, we know that we can assist many individuals and organisations to develop and achieve greater things.

My mantra has always been to help others wherever I can and to learn and exchange ideas from different cultures using the experiences that I have had during my professional deliveries across North America, Asia, Europe and Africa.
