Jan is a passionate leadership development coach who believes she facilitates people to “Be the best they can be”. Prior to becoming an independent coach and coach supervisor, she enjoyed an extensive career in the NHS.
A former NHS nurse executive she has coached predominately across the public sector since 2008. An independent coach and healthcare consultant since 2016, she has delivered thousands of coaching and coaching supervision hours to people working in the NHS, Police Service, Civil Service and Education utilising a range of coaching models to meet client needs.
Coaching Experience
Jan’s journey with clients is to encourage individuals and groups to discover themselves through appreciation and then releasing obstacles that stop them from achieving their goals. Particular focus is placed on self-limiting beliefs, resilience, unconscious biases, managing challenging behaviours, organisational change and the impacts of culture exhibited in the workplace. During the COVID pandemic, she supported frontline NHS staff with offers of pro-bono coaching to clients dealing with stress, loss and grief injury by encouraging clients to identify what they can “effect” (influence) and what they can “affect” (change and control).
Jan started coaching in 2008 and has in excess of 2000 coaching hours. Working with clients extensively across the NHS, her client base is predominately clinicians, consultants and GP’s working in clinical leadership roles.
She gained her MSc in Executive Coaching from Ashridge Hult in 2011, progressing to become a coach supervisor and working as an Associate Coach supporting Ashridge Leadership Development Open Programmes.
Sector Experience
Her coaching experience blends her 40 years of NHS sector history with her passion for leadership development. Her experience as an executive board member across Primary Care, acute hospitals and regional organisations NHS has proven beneficial for coaching and supervising established and aspirant executive team members.
She facilitates action learning sets working with teams across NHS, Police, Education and charity sector organisations.
