Having spent 30 years in policing undertaking a broad variety of roles, I retired as a chief officer in 2015.
My passion and commitment to policing remains especially supporting people to be the best they can at all stages of their careers, and to support organisational change and transformation.
I have extensive investigative experience and an eye for detail having worked as a detective at all ranks across the breadth of major crime, public protection and serious and organised crime and have commanded numerous critical, major and strategic incidents, and have a breadth of experience as a strategic firearms commander.
Professional standards, vetting and integrity have always been key to the professionalism of the service and I took a regional lead in this area and still believe these are the foundation of providing excellent service to the public.
I led numerous strategic change projects, focussing on organisational and cultural change and spent five years with the Inspectorate (HMICFRS) helping other forces to improve. I feel very fortunate to have had a wonderful career, making a difference to the public we served whilst developing and supporting others and have over 30 years of experience in assessing including at a national level for the College of Policing.
Since retiring I have balanced my love of travel, sport and good food with a consistent draw back to supporting the future of policing and public service provision. This has included work I continue to do supporting a number of forces in their promotion processes and proving help to individuals seeking personal development. I also am an associate with HMICFRS bringing a strategic perspective and my broad experience to many inspections, leading to organisational transformation and developing practices.
Working with P2P is exceptionally rewarding, giving me the opportunity to support, guide, mentor and give confidence to individuals and made a significant difference to then and those whom they work with and serve. The team is full of inspiring, talented and positive people who bring a breadth of experience who continue to be a pleasure to work with.
