Dawn Adamson

Associate

I retired from the Metropolitan Police Service as an Inspector in 2018. I completed 30 years’ service and was awarded a certificate for exemplary conduct.

I was hugely privileged to have served in various departments and stations across London. The most challenging, demanding, and enjoyable role for me was always front-line policing, being part of and later managing response teams. My experience has helped me understand what skills and competencies are needed for successfully being recruited into the police and the promotion processes.

I was introduced to Practice to Progress in April 2021, after researching the company and the team of experts, I decided it was the perfect place for me to continue helping people. In September 2021 I was proud to become an associate of P2P.

I wanted to be part of P2P because, like them, I am passionate about law and order, and I wanted to work with colleagues who are ethical and equally as driven to help people achieve their goals. Since joining P2P I have been doing just that.

During the last few years, not only have I been helping empower aspiring police recruits, but I have also been supporting, assisting, and encouraging professional development to a wide range of people. I have worked with police officers as well as those seeking employment within the public sector, NHS, and ambulance service.

It is clear to me that P2P continue to have high standards of excellence and encourage inclusion for all. I believe P2P will provide a greater inclusive future for all areas of policing and the public sector and I look forward to proactively assisting P2P achieve this.

I have a lot of experience working with people from minority ethnic and LGBTQIA+ communities. I will continue to encourage, support, develop and mentor them to ensure they reach their goals. I enjoy helping people understand the Competency Value Framework, by assessing them and assisting them to unlock their best CVF evidence.
