Sandra Moseley

Associate

I retired after thirty years in the Police. Most of my time was spent working as a detective in CID and I also trained in surveillance as part of the proactive intelligence unit. I then went on to specialise working on the murder command both as an investigator and then due to my passion for helping people gain the right tools for the job I moved to work as the as the training supervisor leading a team in supporting detectives with training in investigating murders. I have worked at different ranks supervising and managing serious and complex crimes.

After having a young family, I moved my career in a new direction working at Hendon Crime Academy on the Senior Faculty teaching detective sergeants and supporting detective inspectors.
Due to my passion for teaching I attended university and attained a Certificate in Education – Post 16 Teaching Qualification. I have also worked in transformation, business change, cultural change and as a training needs specialist.

Coming from italian speaking parents who migrated to the UK in the 60s and spoke little english I quickly learnt how to support people with english as their second language. I was recognised for my talent, and I was commended by the Sikh Association and given an award in supporting under-represented communities in promotion and training as well as a commendation from Crime Academy in Promotion Development.

I am a trained interviewer for assessments and role selection, coach and mentor. I believe in lifelong learning and wanting to be the best you can be. I recently enrolled to complete a BSc Hons in Policing Studies with a particular focus around Leadership, Mentoring and Coaching. I am passionate about helping people achieve their full potential.

Even though I have left the police service as an officer, I still consider myself as part of the policing family and I continue to be involved with serving officers development. I work now as an associate, assessing sergeants and inspectors in their occupational competence and in obtaining their qualification in Police Management Level 4 and Level 5. I also mentor officers for the promotion process.

P2P enables me to use my vast array of skills to assist others achieve their best to join the public service which I am proud to have served.
