Mark Payne

Having enjoyed a fantastic 30 year career in Policing, I am really looking forward to using all of the skills and experience that I gained over that time to help other people and organisations to succeed.

During my time in West Midlands Police, I led large commands covering Major Crime, Professional Standards and Counter Corruption. I spent two years as Assistant Chief Constable working as part of the executive team with responsibility for Local Policing.

In my last role I led the region wide response to Counter Terrorism. Working with national and international security partners I oversaw several late-stage interventions in terrorist attack plots. I was also responsible for leading the counter terrorism response to the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

I have always loved helping to develop others. I have mentored people all the way through the organisation, and sat on hundreds of promotion boards. I developed the Detective Academy programme to help officers transition into investigative career pathways. I would love to continue helping people to achieve their potential .
